Under the California Public Records Act (Government Code Section 6250, et seq.), persons who seek public records must present a reasonably focused and specific request so that the public agency will have an opportunity to promptly identify and locate such records and determine whether any exemption to disclosure applies.  (Fredericks v. Superior Court (2015) 233 Cal.App.4th 209, 217.) Your request for "Planning" is not sufficiently specific and fails to set forth identifiable categories of records that can be searched by the City. Please contact us so that we can assist you in making a focused and effective request for the records you are seeking. We look forward to hearing from you.

Disclosable public records are often available in electronic form online. Planning use permits (resolutions, ordinances etc.) are often available in digital format here: https://srcity.org/2220/Public-Documents Simply choose the review authority (i.e. City Council, Planning Commission, Zoning Administrator etc.), and be specific with the “search” parameters.

Complete legislative records (i.e. Staff Reports, Attachments, Presentations, minutes etc.) are also available online: https://santa-rosa.legistar.com/Legislation.aspx  On the search tab, search by address, Parcel Number or Project Name. Choose your specific search parameters or select All Years and All Types.

You can also search current applications and permits for properties here: https://citizen.srcity.org/citizenaccess/
