On 5/22 I wrote the following message in request 19-250:
At the time of the Tubbs Fires did the Santa Rosa Police Department utilize body-worn and/or dash-mounted cameras?
If so have m/any police video records from 10/8/17 - 10/31/17 been retained?
I know that you are not required to answer questions. I prefer to avoid needless formal requests when possible. Thank you for whatever assistance you can provide.
More than one week has passed since I submitted that question and I have not heard anything in response. Accordingly, I submit this request for public records:
I request a complete and unedited machine-readable electronic copy, transferred to me over the internet in the highest resolution and quality available, of the records whose descriptions follow:
1. All metadata from any and all police department video records captured between 10/8/17 and 10/31/17, that have been retained for any reason. Please include all records captured on dash-mounted, closed-circuit, and body-worn cameras as well as all video records obtained from third parties or other sources, provided that the record was captured during the stated period.
(I do not know how the City's police video records / video evidence is stored. If the City wishes to provide me with information on that, I am willing to modify this request so it best meshes with the City's ability to produce the requested records. If the City uses Evidence.com I can specify the query that I would like run.)
2. As of 10/8/17, the most recent City contracts for: (a) the purchase of, and (b) the maintenance of, (1) police dash-mounted cameras, and (2) police body-worn cameras.
3. As of 10/8/17, the City's most recent contract for storage of police video evidence.
4. As of the present, the City's most recent contract for storage of police video evidence.
